Assessment

ISN believes that assessment and monitoring are crucial; the teacher ensures that she/he is aware of how best to support the children and the areas that need to be enhanced.

For older students as well as the continuous assessment we undertake to run the examinations system in accordance with the published guidance, given in the Instructions for the Conduct of Examinations (I.C.E.) document, and others.

Ongoing assessment allows teachers to engage in continuous quality improvement, while provide evidence that students are making progress and we can therefore assist the children and young people to improve their skills and knowledge.

Assesment methods at ISN

Exams and tests are a great way to assess what the students have learnt with regards to particular subjects. Tests and exams can show what part of the lesson each student seems to have taken the most interest in and has remembered.

Differentiation enables every individual student to achieve in exams. The test environment being internal prepares students to experience the process and be confident in the way they can assess themselves also, an attribute for them to keep in mind for future reference.

Our assessment includes the following examinations:

  • ECDL
  • IELTS
  • SATS
  • Foundation Year (for non english speakers)
