SEN Referral process

SEN / Additional support on a short interim or long-term basis is considered provided the child is able to cope with the mainstream curriculum with support.

Children are referred to SEN through the following process:

Teacher concerns. Attempt in-class adjustments (e.g. differentiation, focused attention)

Concerns continue: Teacher fills out Referral Form with required info. Form given to LSU.

LSU Info gathering and observation (x3)

LSU feedback to Principal/Deputy Principal. If deemed non-LSU concern passed to Principal/Deputy as ‘Teaching & Learning’ assessment. If deemed SEN concern then move to formal assessment.

Letter to be sent to parents for formal assessment consent. School Psychologist to assess and provide feedback.

Student to receive support and join IEP process.
